Wheat Lyrics or quote here general info
APPEARANCE
Wheat has long fur. It's a pain and a pleasure to have. It keeps her warm during the cold seasons, but it makes her super hot when it's warm outside. She thinks it's quite beautiful, although it's rather dull and messy. She takes good care of it when she gets the chance, but it just never seems to lie down right. She has bright orange eyes that are always watching something, or someone. They seem to sometimes have a bit of a crazy look to them. Not the good type of crazy, either. They're filled with violent emotions at times, even if there isn't anything violent going on at the time. Her body is fairly normal looking. She's tall, but has the normal warrior build. Her legs are long. She is severely scarred up for someone her age. She's missing some of her ears and even has a few places where her fur won't grow back. personality
Wheat is intelligent, but could be easily distracted, and had a fierce and dangerous temper. She was slavishly devoted to her father. She was her father's most trusted and loyal follower, as well as one of his cruelest kits he had, always eager to inflict pain on enemies and her family members. She is extremely narcissistic and exceptionally arrogant. She is obsessed with blood purity and took immense pride in the aristocracy and pure blood of her family. Like all the rest of her father's kits, she was vehemently against all "blood traitors," and was not above killing members of her own family who displeased her. She is a natural leader and takes charge in tricky situations. Another mark of her decisiveness and ruthlessness was that Wheat took no unnecessary prisoners, preferring to kill them instead. Despite her cruel personality, she is not incapable of caring for a few people. All of what was said above was in the past. She has changed tremendously since traveling with Rye. Of course, you can never take the cruel out of the cat. Her tendencies are still there and she has to be talked out of killing others and just letting them go. Even so, she has become much more open to making friends and learning how to be a good companion.
HISTORY Wheat grew up on a farm. It was a rather large farm, one that grew many different kinds of crops and had several different pastures with animals in it. She was the youngest out of all of her siblings. There had been several litters older than her. From a young age, she looked up to her father and elder siblings. Her father was the leader of the cats at this farm. He was powerful and unforgiving. She watched as he dished out punishments left and right to the cats who messed up. If a cat came back with no prey while out hunting, he'll force them to starve for a week. If a cat harmed one of his kits on accident, then he'd beat them into submission. Beat them until they were barely moving. And if a cat harmed one of his kits on purpose, he'd beat them for days until they begged for death. And then he'd kill them slowly. Yes, her father was ruthless. He cared for no one except for the cats who had his blood running through them. And by the time she was four moons old, he had started training her and her litter mates. She was going to prove herself. Prove that she was the strongest of her litter mates. Prove that she was the one that should be able to take over the group when her father died. That was hard, though. So hard. She was young and weak compared to the older litters. And all of them already had several scars and often fought with each other over whom would be taking over. And her father never stopped them whenever they would fight. He'd just watch and if it got too violent, then he would step in. He told Wheat that it was his way of watching whom was stronger. So she eventually joined in on the fights. Her eldest siblings would push her around and often give her many wounds. But she never backed down. And soon, she was able to take on her littermates and was able to beat them. That was a good sign, right? But her father didn't look too impressed. So she left her farm one day. She had to prove herself another way and she had heard of cats living across the large dusty path, on the other farm. She was determined to go there and bring back a trophy to prove her strength! She ran into a cat while over there. Yep, a cat. Not a very big cat, though. More of a kitten. One younger than herself at that. A small, vibrant orange she-cat named Ray. Such an odd name. Like a ray of sunshine? How weak and pathetic. She should kill this kit and take her lifeless body back to her father. And yet, she didn't kill the kit. She didn't know why, though. The kit was annoying, though. Too bright and happy. Too friendly. And she asked way too many questions. How annoying. So she left after a while, annoyed and ashamed for not being able to kill the tiny kit. She went back to the farm only to find that some of her siblings lay dead. She was confused, although not really sad. Her father said that they had killed the weak ones. That they didn't deserve to live and he had ended them. And that she was lucky she hadn't been around or she would have died too. so over the next few moons, she trained. She trained and trained and trained so often. She often spotted that little vibrant Ray across the large dirt path and was often greeted with friendliness from her and her family. She would just ignore them and continue her training. What idiots. And then, one day, on her way back from training, she stumbled upon blood. A lot of blood. And then the yowling really started. She ran into the barn and watched as cats revolted against her family, against her father. She was dragged into the battle. With some sort of dumb luck, she was able to stay alive. She fought and was wounded. She ended up with so many cuts and gashes. And eventually, her father was killed in the battle. Her siblings ran off. Her mother was taken as the mate of the victor. And Wheat... Wheat was lucky enough that her mother was able to save her from death. Because Lamb was still the 'Queen', Wheat was given treatment. Within a moon she was healed. And when the 'King' deemed that she was fit enough to leave, he gave her half a day to leave the farm. And that's what she did. She left. She never looked back either. She ended up across the giant dirt path, at Ray's farmland. And she just stood there, staring at the tall corn. She stood there and waited and waited. Then she continued further into the fields of corn, looking for that vibrant orange kit. She happened to end up at a barn. Cat scents seemed to flow from it and she shifted her weight from one paw to the other. They asked her what happened. She told them that her family was killed or they ran away. That there had been a large fight on her farm and once she had healed, she had no place to go. From there, Ray's family invited her to stay with them. It was a home at least. She had food and a place to stay. But she also had these overly nice and cheerful idiots surrounding her. They never fought. They never spilled blood with each other. They stayed there and protected each other. Love is what they called it. Love. What a stupid word. It meant nothing. When it came down to it, they would be fighting each other over the last scrap of food. There was no such thing as love. And yet, these idiots often spoke of it as if it kept them together. As if it kept them alive and safe from the dangers of another cat's claws. No. She couldn't stay here. This was not her home and would never be her home. She had to leave. She just had to get out of here. She couldn't take this anymore. She would leave and head towards the territories that Pumpkin and Queenie spoke of. At least there they seemed like they knew what they were doing. So she got up to leave one night while everyone was asleep. And as she was leaving the farm, she heard a voice behind her. Ray. Of course it had to be Ray. Out of everyone, Ray had to follow her. She told Ray that she was leaving and that she should go back to the barn. Ray refused and said that if Wheat was leaving, she would go with her. After all, it could be dangerous. Oh great. She had a puff ball following her now. So ray and Wheat left the farm together. Of course, Ray didn't do a lot of fighting and Wheat was much more experienced. So Wheat was the one that often did the protecting. She wasn't sure why she was protecting this ball of fluff, but it happened nearly every time they got into something dangerous. Danger seemed to be their middle names. Around every corner was something. A rogue, a dog, a twoleg, a rat, who knows what else? It got to the point where Wheat thought about giving up and settling down in a territory of her own. But Ray always convinced her to continue forward. And so she did. Soon, Ray started to learn to keep her big mouth shut around strangers. It was clear after the first ten encounters with rogues and loners, she was finally learning that they weren't friendly. Good. At least she was learning something, right? Thus, they continued. It was a long, tiring journey. Especially for Wheat, whom seemed to do all of the fighting and hunting. Of course, Ray would get lucky and was able to catch something every once and a while. Which wasn't too hard, considering the season they were in. Finally, after moons of traveling, they descended from the rocky mountains and ended up in the territories of the clans. The valley was huge, yet they decided to just end their journey in the plains. They found what looked to be like old dens. Blood stained the mossy bedding and there seemed to be some old, withered up herbs in one of the dens. Cats had lived here at some point, but it had been many moons since then. Many, many moons. And yet, it was a cozy little place once they removed the moss and old herbs. Wheat even noted a mass burial site near the camp. There were a lot of places where cats were buried too and she often wondered what happened to them. It was always a mystery to her, though. After all, there was no one around to ask. So they ended up settling there. Since then, Wheat has grown to be a... "decent" cat, thanks to Ray. She isn't as violent or angry as she was before their journey. But she still has that side of her.
