8 moons. Spark had been on her own for only a moon, but today was her 8 moon day. Something she kept a little comfort in knowing. She survived for a moon on her own. But that didn't mean she enjoyed it. No, she rather disliked being by herself. No one to listen too made her sad. Today however, was the day she had finally decided on. The day her life was going to change for hopefully the better, after her dad passed. Now if she had bothered to go home first, she would have known her dad was alive and well, and probably worried sick like the rest of her family. Or they thought she was dead, either or. But she didn't go home, so she still had the thought drilled into the core of her soul that her family was going to hate her for letting her father die, and not trying to save him. She wasn't going to be of any help though, not then. Now she might. As her paws sank into the soft wet marsh, she felt the cool water flow in between her toes and it felt relaxing enough for her eyes to close and her to sigh.
"Oh Today's the day....... I hope..."
the white fluffy shecat pressed on, following the scent of cats that she didn't recognize, hoping to find one or two and ask about the clans. She didn't want to be alone anymore, and Spark was going to make sure she wasn't, come hell or high water.

"Hey! You're not a Marshclan cat," came a voice from behind the she-cat. He pranced, yes, pranced, so that he was finally in front of her. His eyes ran over her fluffy white pelt and he gave her a smile suddenly. She wasn't bad looking. A bit on the plump side, but that was alright.
"I won't tell anybody, though. After all, you're very pretty. Maybe you want to hang out with me for a bit? Tell me a bit about yourself as I groom your fur? Maybe I can catch you a water vole or something to eat?" he suggested, green eyes wondering over her again.
Another smirk appeared on his face as he circled her again. "I can you show you my secret hiding spot, if you want. Where we could be alone," he trilled, rubbing his side against hers. His white and brown tabby pelt was short, especially compared to her fluffy white one. And her fluffy white one sure was warm.

Spark almost jumped out of her pelt when that voice came up from behind her. Her claws retracted and her head turned to follow the prancing tom until he came to a halt in front of her. Spark's eyes were fixated on this tom's eyes, she watched them look her over and then gaze back into her own. Did she just get a compliment? She was pretty? Sure her dad had told her that a few times, but she never believed him. Spark always just liked being Spark, this pretty thing had to go, Pretty Spark's weren't Spark.
Still... it did feel nice to have someone who didn't know her say it, if only this cat knew what kind of coward she was, he would probably run her off. But he didn't need to know, and Spark wasn't exactly going to walk around with a sign that said "I let my dad Die" spelled out on her Pelt in dirt. That was what Stupid cats did. her eyes followed the Tom as he circled her once again and then pressed into her side. Spark jumped away from this cat as their sides touched. She was definitely not expecting that....
"I.. umm... Did you say... clan?"
Spark's face frowned slightly. She really hoped this cat wouldn't drag this talk out, she just wanted to get some place safe, some place she could hide from her past, She didn't want to spend all day talking to some cat who was just going to stare at her like she was the only she-cat in the forest. She wrapped her tail around her paws as she waited for an answer. She was thinking about what she was going to say to these cats to let her join, she didn't look like she could do much, but she would give up everything for a new life again.

He smirked and nodded once. Oh, she was going to play hard to get. Cedarpaw didn't mind. He liked challenges. They just made things more interesting and fun. Plus, it was no fun if she-cats just fell for him automatically. Of course, he still flirted with them. But he'd rather have a challenge. And she was clearly giving him one. So he took a step towards her again and purred, giving her the best dreamy eyes he could.
"I did. I'm an apprentice, almost a warrior in the clan. Can't you tell how strong I am? I'll be able to protect you from anything in this forest. Of course, protection comes with a small price. Maybe I can protect you if you'd spend some time with me?" he suggested, tail curling over his back as he touched his nose to her cheek. He gave a purr of affection as he waited for a response of some sort.

Spark sighed as the cat began approaching her, with those sappy eyes, Really, Spark wanted to tell him that he looked like a Toad with the way his eyes looked, but she couldn't say that to him. It might make him feel bad, probably not, but she wasn't going to take that chance. No, no she was not. The tom started talking, and that grabbed her attention, he WAS a clan cat, and he wanted to protect her. Spark wasn't exactly a pushover... ok maybe she was, but she could stand up for herself if she needed too, Her eyes slowly lowered to her claws that she was sticking in and out of the wet ground to relax herself. This tom was getting awfully close for her comfort, and then he touched her cheek!
Spark wanted to scream on the inside, but she didn't. Instead she composed herself and backed up again, just enough to meet this cats eyes once more.
"Well, you're almost a warrior then? That's interesting...."
If he wasn't going to go away, maybe Spark could get him to focus on something else. Something that wasn't her....

Cedarpaw purred a bit. "Not only am I almost a warrior. I'm also the deputy's apprentice. I'm very important in the clan," he said, puffing his chest out with pride. He gave her a smile again before he heard rustling behind him. He hopped and turned around, tail fluffed out.
"Whose there?" he asked, baring his teeth.
------
"You'd know if you would use your senses. It's only me, Owlbranch," the tom meowed. He looked between Cedarpaw and the she-cat before looking back at Cedarpaw.
"Sorry about Cedarpaw here. He can be a bit.... assertive," he said, looking at the she-cat. He jerked his head to the side and watched as Cedarpaw moved away from the she-cat. His blue-green eyes locked onto the small frame of the she-cat in front of him.
"My name is Owlfur, I'm a warrior of Marshclan. Did you need something, miss? Perhaps an escort off of the territory? Or have you come interested in joining?" he asked.

Spark eyed Cedarpaw cautiously as he flaunted his future warrior status in her face like it was a mouse and he wanted her to share it with him. It was rather.... Entertaining, actually. Spark almost laughed before Cedarpaw turned violent and aggressive, which made her freeze up instantly, her ears shoot straight up and her eyes darted around the area looking for anything that might be coming to attack them, but instead of an enemy, another cat came. This one was much larger, compared to Spark anyway, and he seemed to be annoyed at Cedarpaw.
I hope he's not in trouble....
Spark looked this new cat over as he spoke. So his name was Owlfur.... and he WAS a Warrior. of Marshclan, like Cedarpaw! Spark's eyes lit up and she relaxed after hearing this, so she was in the right area, she made her journey. HA, her dad would be so proud of her, she tracked down this place all by herself without her brothers help. No need for a babysitter in this cats head!
...
Oh... Right, Daddy...
Spark's eyes softened, slowly growing cloudy as that memory flooded back into her mind. She blinked and silently looked at the ground for a moment before returning her gaze to Owlfur, her eyes looking much more stoic this time.
"I uh... i was hoping to join a clan.... i don't have much of a home anymore.... and I can't live by myself..."

Owlfur examined the younger cat carefully then smiled. His head lowered so that he was bowing a bit, before straightening back up. He flicked his fluffy tail towards her and then jerked his head a bit, still smiling. "You can follow me. I can take you to go meet the leader. He'll be the one to talk to about joining. I can't formally accept cats into the clan. I'm sure he won't deny you, though."
He turned and headed back towards the camp. He looked back at the two.
"Cedarpaw, take up the back of the patrol. And don't bother her too much. I'm sure she doesn't want anybody flirting with her at the moment."
He then continued on towards the camp, ears perked a bit to listen out for any patrols. He didn't hear any, but within a few minutes, the noise of the camp could be heard. "Whats your name anyways? It'd be nice if I knew how to introduce you to the deputy or leader," he said, walking into the camp.

Spark slowly stood up and followed behind Owlfur silently nodding to him as he spoke. At least they were going somewhere, though she couldn't exactly say she was comfortable with Cedarpaw behind her. As they walked towards camp, Spark cast a glance over her shoulder to watch Cedarpaw behind her. She wasn't going to have to sleep near him was she? That was going to make tonight all the more awkward. She turned her head back to Owlfur and then left her gaze to the ground, following silently. Listening to the sounds of the Open forest in fall. Distance's between trees made it easier for her to hear things over great distances and all the new sounds she was hearing made her feel excited.
As they entered the camp, Owlfur's voice broke her train of thought. Her name? She hadn't told him her name... Oh boy...
"I uh.... My name is Spark..."

Owlfur nodded and continued on towards a den. As they passed, cats turned curious, eyes following the unknown she-cat named Spark. He ignored them and poked his head into the den. "Duskblaze, someone is here about joining Marshclan," he meowed. A muffled reply came back and he backed out. He sat on the ground, waiting patiently. After a moment, a savagely scarred tom came out smelling of herbs and light blood.
"Duskblaze, this is Spark. Spark, this is our leader, Duskblaze."
------
Duskblaze's green eyes moved from Owlfur towards the loner that was in the middle of his home. He examined her carefully. Long white fur, plump, young. Potential. He circled her as he looked her up and down again, eyes critical.
"Spark is your name? How did you hear of us, Spark? And why do you want to join our clan?" he questioned, coming back to face her. He stood there, face stuffed with cobwebs that were slowly being soaked in blood. His ears were aimed towards her as he awaited an answer. Muscles stiffening and relaxing as he stood impatiently.
