"come on, everyone, we're going to play in the clearing for a bit! Come on, quickly now. Stormkit, be nice to Fogkit. Wolfkit, your fur is an absolute mess! Pantherkit, don't you want to see your father? He's out here in the clearing. Come on, everyone."
Petal was herding all of the kits out of the elders den. Her blue eyes were tired, yet she still held a bright smile on her face. She loved being around these kits. They were all so different. Nor were all of them hers. In fact, only one of them was hers! Yet, she was stuck caring for six kits, causing her to have no free time. Still, she didn't mind. This was an interesting experiment in itself. She could already see the personalities of Duskblaze's kits coming out, as well as her own kit.
To her, most of Duskblaze's kits took after him and his mate. Strong and independent, always trying to push the other kits around. And yet, there was one whom seemed content with being easy going and even a bit of a pushover to his siblings. She found him quite interesting.
Robinkit, her own son, and only kit to have lived, seemed to take quite a bit after herself. He was curious and outgoing.
Fogkit, the newest of all the kits, she couldn't compare to anyone. Turtlefrost had found him in the forest all by himself, abandoned. Poor thing. She wondered what he would do if he ever found out his mother planned on leaving him and never returning. Maybe she would tell him some day, but not today. Even so, he could keep up with Duskblaze's kits pretty easily. He was just as strong and independent as they were, being able to stand up for himself if they ever decided to pick on him that day.
"What should we play today?" Fogkit asked as he ran out of the den. He wasn't paying attention to where he was going and ran right into a leg. He fell backwards, landing on his butt and looked up. His green eyes found a dark brown tabby and white tom. He gulped, fur fluffed out as Stagheart stared him down, teeth bared. Maybe one of the other kits would save him? Or Petal? Where was Turtlefrost when you needed her?

Robinkit eyed the world with curiosity as he slowly followed his mother out of the den, eyes drifting from cat to cat, none of them he had seen before! It was like a new experience! (Robinkit had actually seen every cat in camp quite a few times, being such a small clan, he was bound to see most everyone), especially after that loud night in the nursery. Robinkit stopped dead in his tracks as a small little black creature (ant) crawled out of a small hole in the ground. Robinkit dropped down as close as he could get to watch the little creature do his work. But it suddenly flew away as he got as close as he could, why did it leave him? Did it run scared? His eyes grew wide with surprise. Something flew away from him because he scared it! He squealed in delight at the thought of someone running from him, the big strong warrior. Or so he had heard, That was what he was going to be.
Robinkit hopped after his mom once again, but stumbled as Fogkit blew past him and right up to Petal.
"That wasn't fair! You tripped me!"
Robinkit ran after Fogkit as he stumbled right into another giant creature. This one was much more cat like. But when it growled at him, Robinkit growled right back, trying to show his tiny teeth as a threat, maybe he would run like the other thing did!

Wolfkit wobbled after his siblings, little legs still unsteady with sleep. His eyes were a baby blue, so wide and bleary but excited for the world. He stumbled closely behind his sisters. They were bigger and stronger than him. Like Petaa. Good for warm, and good for protecting. He liked just to follow what they said, and walk where they walked. Going out too far into camp on his own was scary. He didn't like leaving the nursery all that much.
"Less play 'n the stream!" he squeaked out even so. He'd gone over there once the other day, waaaaay far away. All the way across camp, right by the nest that smelled all planty. He'd put his paws in the water, and it was different from the kind that Papa brought Petaa. It wasn't in moss. It moved all on its own, and felt cool on his paws. Wolfkit looked over, straining his eyes to see so far away. He could see the orange kit, who never played with them, talking to the scary black one. Well, he thought they were talking. The orange one's noises never really sounded like words. They spent an awful lot of time near the stream. Would they play too if they went over there, though?
"No! Lets play clan. I wanna be leader, just like Papa!" Pantherkit mewed from in front, puffing out her chest all strong-like. "My name's Pantherstar. I can climb allll the way up the big rock!" she yowled- although it was more of a chirp, with how small she was. Still, Wolfkit thought she looked pretty intimiadting like that. Just like their Papa, all dark fur and blue eyes. Cept Papa's eyes weren't blue. He said their eyes would change some day- would they all have orange like him? Wolfkit began to wonder, dazing around in his own thoughts. That was, until Pantherkit wapped him with her paw to get his attention.
"Wake up, sleepy head! Do you wanna play clans or not?" Well... He wanted to play in the stream.. But clans was fun too, he supposed. As long as he was with his sisters, he would play anything. Wolfkit nodded.
Wolfkit looked around, wondering if they were all going to play. He saw Fogkit under a brown tom- big and scary looking. He didn't know his name. He growled, and Wolfkit pressed closer to Pantherkit. Even though he wasn't growling at him, he still looked pretty scary. Immediately Pantherkit stepped up.
"A bear! A bear is attacking the camp!" she squealed, dashing forward. Well, dashing as much as a cat as little as her could. She jumped in front of Fogkit. "Grrrrrrrr! No bears' gonna 'tack my camp! Lets get em!" she growled, attacking the tom's legs with pin-sized claws and fangs. Oh gosh! A bear! Attacking their camp! Wolfkit gulped.
But a warrior came to their rescue, dashing into the bunch before Wolfkit could even blink. Bright fur like the leaves on the floor, and eyes that sparkled like the sky. She dropped into a crouch in front of Fogkit, eyeing the brown tom with a dark gaze and a smile that looked just a bit too much like a snarl for Wolfkit's comfort. She came to the nursery sometimes, and always played with Fogkit. Wolfkit recognized her, but couldn't remember her name... "A bear! Whatever will we do? Pantherstar, Pantherstar! Fogfrost! You must protect us!" she breathed, flopping gently to her side and lolling her tongue out. Oh no! A casualty!

Stagheart snarled down at the kits, tail lashing. He didn't play with kits. He never had, even with his own. And then Turtlefrost was there in front of them. The warrior's eyes met his own and he gazed at her. "Do not drag me into this pathetic game of yours. And keep those squealing rats away from me," he snarled.
He suddenly felt a weight on his back. He whipped his head around and saw Fogkit climbing up on him. Great, Turtlefrost made it look as if he was playing. He gnashed his teeth at the kit, snapping the shut right in front of the gray kit's face.
"The bear is going to attack the elder's den! Come on! We must save Turtlefrost and Petalfrost!" he squealed. He clearly didn't realize that they weren't that old, but they were so much older than him now. For Starclan's sake, he couldn't believe they weren't in the elder's den already!
Stormkit leaped, climbing onto Stagheart's chest. He climbed up so that he was hanging from the tom's fur with his kit claws. "Kill the bear!" he howled, although it was barely loud enough to reach across the camp.

Robinkit frowned as the bigger object didn't flee in terror like the other one. He was sure that would have worked on anything else, maybe even his mom. He could be scary! But he instead watched the other kits leap onto the giant furbag, so this thing was a bear. Robinkit had heard of bears, they were suppose to be giant and crush cats with every pawstep. This bear looked kinda underwhelming, if Robinkit was being honest. But he couldn't tell the bear that, he might hurt it's feelings. Did bears have feelings? Robinkit thought about that. Could bears have feelings? Did bears have parents? Did bears speak cat?
"Wait! he can't be a bear, he speaks like a cat!
Robinkit's eyes focused for a moment as he was fixated on the bear, whom he was pretty sure was no more bear than he was. This bear was speaking cat, that wasn't normal was it? Robinkit had no idea, he had never met a Bear before, and the more he eyed this cat in front of him, the more apparent it became.
He was a cat.
Robinkit's ears dropped slightly in disappointment.

They had to save whatserfrost and Petaa! Wolfkit let out a mew before leaping at the bear's legs, scrabbling for a perch. Even as the bear tried to shake him off, he just kept climbing. On the other leg, Pantherkit scrabbled much more efficiently, weaseling her way up the bear's limb with ease. Her claws were so much longer than Wolfkit's, he thought. But she was leader, so that made sense. He just had to work on what he was doing!
Now on top of the warrior, Pantherkit let out a mighty yowl, before digging her fangs into the tom's scruff and yanking it around. Was she trying to pull him down? "We gotta knock im down!" Wolfkit yelped, voice breaking halfway through as he was nearly thrown off. But there were so many of them. They would surely win, right?
Wait a second...
Robinkit's voice immediately shattered the illusion of their game. He... was right. This couldn't be a bear at all, it talked! Wolfkit's ears drooped and his grip loosened, and soon he was easily removed from the warrior's leg. Yeah, this wasn't a bear anymore.. It was just a big ol warrior. But... playing with cats was fun, too...! He played with his siblings all the time!
From the top of his body (it was so high up, Wolfkit could barely see!), Pantherkit didn't relent her attack. Should they find something else to play, Wolfkit wondered? He really would like to go play in the water...! But he had to see what everyone else wanted to do first. He didn't want to play alone, and Pantherkit still seemed to be having fun! So instead of running off, he just went to sit buy whatserfrost, who was now sitting up with a bit of an annoyed face. At least, that was what Wolfkit thought it was. Was she mad at them? Or maybe at the bear?
"Well would you look at that. It's not a bear after all! Just a grumpy old warrior." the tortoiseshell seemed to put emphasis on certain words, but they got all jumbled in Wolfkit's head. He was too young to understand. But if a warrior said it, then it must be true! So it wasn't a bear after all... "I guess we were never in danger after all. Why don't you start a new game then?" she meowed, looking down at them all with a toothy grin. She was leaving it up to them? Wait- was she leaving it up to him? Wolfkit's eyes got wide.
"Uh... uh... Yeah! Whadda we wanna play next?" he mewled quickly, looking around at the other kits for suggestions. They should do something that was fun for all of them! Like mossball! Or the water! Or... uh... there were lots of other games that they played, but Wolfkit couldn't remember right now. But someone would have an idea!

Stagheart shook his fur angrily now, sending Fogkit tumbling to the ground. He snorted as he heard the gray kit squeak after the thud. "Bears are much bigger than me. Scarier. Stronger. Deadlier," he growled, a sadistic smile appearing on his face as he unsheathed his claws and dug them into the mud.
He saw Stormkit's eyes go wide with interest. "But perhaps you'll meet one someday." was all he said, turning sharply. His tail brushed under Turtlefrost's chin as he stalked away.
------
"We can play hide and seek!" Stormkit suggested, looking excitedly towards Wolfkit. She bounced up and down, accidentally running into Robinkit as she did so. "Robinkit can be it and the rest of us can hide!"
------
Fogkit used one of his paws to rub his chest. It was going to be bruised, since he landed on it. He looked up at Turtlefrost now, but didn't ask why that cat was so mean.

Robinkit rolled over as Stormkit knocked into him, his eyes were bright with joy, he was it!
"Wait.... HEY no faiiir!"
Robinkit bounced after Stormkit as he laughed. So they were playing tag now. Robinkit could enjoy a game of hide and seek. He looked around for a place to count, where could he count where everyone else could hide. What would work.... His eyes scanned the camp, high and low, finally they landed on his mom. Robinkit decided his mom's stomach would make a good place to hide his face while he counted, he regained his footing and raced over to Petalfrost as quickly as he could, which was rather hilarious to see, the little fluff ball hopping his way across camp, he ran up to her and stopped just short of smacking into her.
"Mom, can I use you as a spot to count for hide and seek?"

Fogkit and Pantherkit both tumbled off of the tom's back with a thud. Pantherkit growled, still batting at his feet. But then he made that face, and.. Eep. That tom was.. Kinda scary. Wolfkit subconsciously moved closer towards his sisters. He stalked off, and he could have sworn he saw Turtlefrost snap after his tail with her teeth as he left. But maybe he was just seeing things, with his hazy baby blue eyes.
"Hide and seek!" Wolfkit echoed, bouncing after Stormkit. That would be lots of fun!
"Stormkit has such good games. Robinkit is it! Robinkit is it!" Pantherkit squeaked, running off. No doubt to hide! Oh, where should he hide?! Wolfkit looked around. Turtlefrost was licking Fogkit on the head, and both his sisters had run off. And now Robinkit was gonna count behind Petaa. Camp was so big, he was pretty sure that if he went too far he'd get lost forever! Uhm... Uhm..!
Wolfkit dashed off as Robinkit began to count. He scrambled over the soft clover floor and towards the opposite side of camp. When he reached the big rock, he gasped. Wow, he'd never been this far before! Uh... That would be a good place to hide! Or- no, maybe that would be too obvious. He would go... Behind it! His heart was beating quickly as he heard his friend's voice counting from across the clearing. That number was getting pretty high, but he would hide real good! Wolfkit went around the back of the big rock- and ahah! There was his safety ticket! The tiniest, eensiest, itty bittiest hole between the stones of the camp wall and the back of the big rock. He could fit there!
It was a tight squeeze, but he got in. Snug as a bug in the mud. Like a little mouse hole. Why, it was so dark and squished, he could barely see the outside! But from his spot he could still see Pantherkit, hiding right beside the warriors den. He wondered who would be found first!
