Turtlefrost i am still blazing in my golden hell general info
APPEARANCE
As a kit, Turtlefrost was a bit of an odd dopey looking thing. Unfocused eyes, Little legs that didn't match her fatter body, tiny and weak as could be. Not to mention sickley. If you'd looked at her as a kit, you wouldn't have imagined that she could grow into the cat she is today. Lean and hard-muscled, Turtlefrost is a stunning she-cat with tall legs and a long body. She has a wonderful build for running, and due to the compactness of her muscle's combined with that natural speed, she's not a bady fighter by any means. Quite good actually! Her gait is long and purposeful, oozing with confidence. Her coat is short, sleek, and smooth. A mixture of three colors- jet black, pale cream, and pure white. A tortoiseshell. It would have aided her well in the shadows of Thornclan's former territory, but even in the basin it allows her to blend in with fallen leaves and dapples of sunlight. Her face is long and angular, with very large ears and a slightly hooked muzzle. Turtlefrost's eyes are deep blue and oval in shape, and her whiskers are thick and white. personality
To say that Turtle is a loyal cat is an understatement. Even from a young age, she knew that Thornclan was the finest clan in the forest. Of course, Thornclan isn't exactly around anymore, but... That pride still rings clear in her heart. Thornclan's destruction was a heavy blow to her, and not one that she'll ever forget. But even without Thornclan around anymore, Turtle is still as loyal as can be. She might not enjoy all of the rogues and cats from other clans in her new clan, but She's more than willing to put her life on the line for her clan and clanmates at any given moment. She is extremely loyal to the warrior code, and wouldn't dream of breaking it. She follows it quite strictly, and is more than ready to call out another cat who is acting against it. Living after the destruction when cats had fallen from its guidance was a very difficult time for her. Her clan and the warrior code aren't the only things she's loyal to of course. She's also extremely loyal to her family, and would do anything for them at any given time. She was particularly protective of her late mother, Foxflower. Foxflower may not have always been around physically or emotionally- and this may have caused some underlying issues with Turtle feeling the need to prove herself- but she was the sun in Turtlefrost's eyes. Losing her, and the rest of her family, was a horrible thing. She'd admired her older siblings (despite not always heeding their advice), and had loved her cousins. Being left alone in a world like this would make most cats bitter. But not Turtlefrost. It just made her angry. Turtle is easy to provoke into a fight. She's the type of cat who, despite following the code, is always looking for a chance to use her claws. Or a challenge. Insult any of the things she holds dear or what remaining family she has and you can bet she'll be right there, paws to your throat. Despite her loyalty, Turtle is an independent cat. She likes others, but likes to think that she doesn't need them. Even though she totally does. She has a high confidence in her abilities, and could even be considered cocky. She often believes that she knows better than other cats, even if they're more skilled than she. Turtle is a skilled climber/fighter and is quite fast, but she doesn't always understand that physical skill isnt everything. She doesn't usually listen to advice from others, and will often brush it off thinking that she knows better. Even though she's quite cocky. she has an extreme respect for the higher ups. As long as they've proved themselves worthy of being higher ups, at least. Its hard to tell with how the world is right now. That comes with her strong belief in the warrior code. Turtle may be a cocky cat and this can easily lead to arguments with others, but she isn't a mean cat. Yes, she's sarcastic and may joke around at times, but its all in good fun. She may not listen to them, but she has a deep affection for her clanmates. She's a rather hardheaded and strong willed cat, and once she decides on something she's not likely to change her mind. She also has a strong dislike for former Duskclan and Dawnclan cats, due to what happened by the paws of those cats to her family.
HISTORY Seasons ago, Turtlefrost was born along with her brothers Yarrowkit and Poppykit to Foxflower of Thornclan. Well, of Thornclan might have been a bit of an overstatement. After all, Foxflower hadn't been born there. And Turtlefrost's father, Crowstar, certainly hadn't been. No, Turtlefrost nad her brothers had been concieved in Duskclan. Their father had been the clan's leader. Before he went mad and attempted to kill his kits and mate, that was. That was an entire mess that lead to Foxflower fleeing to Thornclan, and Turtlefrost being told very little of what happened there. She would always poke and pry, but nobody would give her a straight answer on why Duskclan was so bad or why her mother had so many scars. Not until she was older, at least. And by then her mother had been long gone. Oh, but we're getting ahead of ourselves. Foxflower wasn't the most... close mother. Well.. no. Thats not the right word. It was.. complicated, alright? She had a lot on her plate at the time of her last litter's birth. It made sense that she would be spacey, evasive, and fearful. Maybe it made sense that she wouldn't want to look at her kits for the memories that they caused her sometimes, too. Especially after her two toms, Yarrowkit and Poppykit, died of illness. And Turtlefrost nearly fell as well. Any mother wouldn't want to see their kit in pain, right? Turtlekit was so weak and sickly that she couldn't even lift her head. She couldn't blame her mother for spending more time out of camp than in the medicine cat's den or the nursery. It was the times that she was in the medicine cat's den that would count. Turtlekit loved her mother all the same though. With absolutely every piece of her heart. In her eyes, Foxflower was the strongest warrior in the forest, the most beautiful cat in the world, and the best mother in the galaxy. If she didn't come and visit her every day, well then that was just.. Turtlekit's own fault. Eventually her illness passed. Turtlekit returned to her life as a rambunctious kit, and then a rambunctious apprentice. Her mentor was Rookclaw, and she couldn't have been happier! Still, she spent as much time with her mother as she could. Foxflower had a difficult time settling into Thornclan life, and even though she'd been born there and loved the clan, Turtlepaw wanted to make things as easy as possible for her mother. Even if she hadn't been told everything, Turtlepaw knew that Foxflower had been through a lot. It was clear in her face. Those green eyes were always so empty, like they were looking through her. Even when she tried her hardest to make her proud. But.. that was why she was determined not to let her mother go through any more. Halfway through her apprenticeship tragedy struck. Not just for Turtlepaw, but for every cat in the forest. The earthquake. It shattered the clans from the outside in, destroying their homes and families without care. All cats lost family that night, but no loss struck Turtlepaw as hard as that of her mother. She looked everywhere for her as the camp cracked apart and her clanmates fell into the void below, but she never found her. She had to be dragged out of camp by an older warrior. It was a horrible blow. Turtlepaw had other family in Thornclan- her mother's sister, and the kits born to her and their leader- but such a loss was not one easily recovered from. Even from a bright, snarky, cocky young cat like Turtlepaw. Eventually she did, but it and the other losses suffered by the clans throughout the great journey left their mark on Turtlepaw. By the time she'd become a warrior, she was much quicker to violence and distasteful of the other clans than she'd been when they first started. Turtlefrost was more than grateful when they finally arrived in the new territories, and Thornclan could be split from the other clans once more. But of COURSE the peace of their new home just couldn't last. Not long after they'd finally settled in their new home, war broke out. The clans shattered once more, and this time it seemed to be for good. Turtlefrost tried to cling to the warrior code as best she could- to keep the memory of Thornclan alive- but it was just so hard in those times. Days passed in a haze of blood, each one blending with the next. It wasn't any kind of life, much less for one so cocky but code-oriented as Turtlefrost. So when she heard rumors of clans reforming, she was the first cat on the way. She may not have liked the idea of blending with the other clans again, but at least she still had a few of her former Thornclan friends with her. And finally a chance at another life as a true warrior.
