It was over, but the days were still dark. The yellow eyed she-cat had claimed this spot as her own territory, defending it for a few moons now. The world went from a normal struggle, to complete hell in a matter of hours. A dark heavy haze still appeared to hang over the entire forest and every step you took was trespassing on hallowed ground. Cats DIED here. She stood in stance looking down towards DuskClan and ThornClan, the yowls of cats fighting could be heard in the distance, so this is what it was like? To have no rules, it was chaos. She curled her lip slightly as she whitnessed cats all too familiar to her fighting over a small scrap of food. She shook her head with disdain before continuing around to look towards her old home. Her tail twitched ever so slightly as she closed her eyes , she wanted to remember what it was like before the pillowy smoke shrouded it. Before it was destroyed. In all honesty it was beautiful, she missed her home very much but she couldn't go back, not after everything she had saw....everything she had ever fought for.
"Scorpionpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code even at the cost of your life" Those words echoed in her head as the cats were fighting off their intruders. She remembered seeing cats with red glowing eyes, and darkness around them, they seemed invincible but Scorpionstorm made the promise to protect her clan even at the cost of her life. One by one those cats came running into their camp, the cats were fighting....all of them. Elders, queens, kits...and one by one she watched them fall. She locked eyes with Boltstar for a moment, watching him get dragged into the leaders den. "NO YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Scorpionstorm ran forward but was stopped by a lanky black she-cat. "Get out of my way!" Scorpionstorm launched herself at but was easily thrown aside and pinned, but the new warrior just got back up again. Her father and mother had been in the leaders den waiting for a meeting with their leader, and now they were trapped. She wouldn't let them...die....she couldn't. She was thrown down once more, and beside her, her siblings. "n-no..."
"Does it hurt you to see your clan mates die? Because by the time we are done everyone you have ever loved and cared about will be DEAD!"
Scorpionstorm heard a loud shreak and she watched as Sootcloud fell to the ground. She felt the blood roaring in her ears, as a paw went slashing across ehr neck. She saw blood fill the wound and isntantly collapsed. Perhaps from exhaustion, perhaps from fear, who knows, and when she woke up again, it was a graveyard. She opened her eyes and looked around her. Dust was just starting to settle, but in it she could see her dead clan mates. Blood stained the camp and Scorpionstorm looked around...the one cat she saw moving was Sootcloud and it was obvious to her that she was on her way to StarClan...did StarClan even exist anymore? Sootcloud reached out for her and all Scorpionstorm could do was closer her lids, stroking her fur with her tail until she went to starClan. "Shhh...soon things will be peaceful....shhhh....." Scorpionstorm whispered. It wasn't long until she stopped moving. At that moment Scorpionstorm ran...ran from her home. There was NOTHING left to fight for...her promise was done.
The black she-cats eyes snapped back into reality as she shook her head, her home was gone, there wasn't a point anymore. Her ears perked however as she heard pawsteps. She whipped around and could see a large she-cat tail lashing. "This is my home you know!" The stranger attacked her and Scorpionstorm quickly dodged and had her pinned. The stranger was begging her to let her go, and all Scorpion could do was bite down into her throat, not letting go until she let her last breath go. She stepped off panting, tail lashing. She was a monster! She had trained all these moons so she could defend herself...defend who she cared about...but she killed...innocent cats to defend herself...would this stranger have done the same? She winced slightly walking off as if nothing had happened.
"That's why I'm Scorpion now... I don't even follow the code..." She murmured. Eyes dull she turned back towards the north part of Aurora hill. Perhaps StarClan would send them a sign....to those who still believed...who believed in that rubbish anymore. They weren't there to save them when almost everyone died...Scorpion didn't really think they would save her now. Or anyone now...all the cats were monsters and the only ones that would survive were those that were prepared to kill in an instant...and that was shattering.

Boltfang's curiosity about the outside world had sparked a fire in his mind. Slowly it began to burn into a roaring flame. Finding Snowheart had given Boltfang something he hadn't found in a long time, something he'd given up on.... when the clans fell. Boltfang had hope. While he was absolutely certain that this was just a small phase and it would pass. Snowheart was a chance meeting, and one that might not last given her current state of being. Boltfang had to let her rest, Hopefully she wouldn't leave the camp before he got back.
As he carried on pawstep after pawstep, the stench of death clung to almost every blade of grass. The sights that the trees had watched unfold, that Starclan had watched unfold, helpless. Boltfang couldn't be helpless, he was a lot of things. But a quitter, he wasn't. Not now.
His eyes glanced up to the sky as he left the forest and spotted the sun, bright in the sky, as if nothing had happened. It made him sick to his stomach. Cats he loved, Cats he gave up everything for, were now dead, or dying and he couldn't help them. But none of that mattered, he had to focus on the hear and now. Apparently the hear and now would have to wait. Boltfang stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, swiping his claws at thin air.
"Paranoid... Nothing wrong..."
Boltfang was wrong. A cat leaped from the underbrush, well hidden, and probably deadly. Boltfang felt the claws dig into his back. He let out a screech of pain, before rolling onto his pack and trying to kick at his attacker. The cat turned and whirled on him again, Shouting some insult that Boltfang didn't understand. The cat lunged again, this time Boltfang ducked under the lunge and pushed himself back up, knocking the cat with his spine onto it's side where he promptly pinned it. His eyes were cold, His fangs were bared.... But he couldn't do it. He lifted his paw up, and the cat squirmed away. Running like the coward he was. Boltfang sat quietly in the shade of a fallen tree. He was out of breath, and out of practice.

She had left the body for the wolves to feed on, as long as they stayed fed, they would leave the living cats along. She narrowed her eyes as her patrol continued. She had found a home under the shade of a fallen tree. Her nest was entangled within the branches. She stiffled a yawn as she trudged forward. The fur on the back of her neck as she heard a loud screech. She winced slightly as it died down..another one gone. She closed her eyes tightly, hestitating and taking her time. Her home was at the bottom of the hill, and she didn't want to go where it was dangerous, but something about that tone was familiar to her, yet her mind could not pin point it. The black she-cat huffed before braving the situation. Whatever had decided to kill or be killed was gone in either case. Most cats didn't stick around for noises attracted others It was best to kill and run and be done with it all. Taking in a deep breath she walked down the hill ducking in the tall grass, stopping when she heard paw steps, and moved again when she felt it was safe. Safe...that was something they never truely were.
She could see the fallen tree, its branches tangled within each other. Another day she had survived, and that was something to be proud of. She knew that not all cats were fortunate like she was. However her blood ran cold as she saw a tom sitting near her home. She curled her lip a light growl forming in the back of her throat. Focus on his breathing Scorpion....attack when most vulnerable" She hid in the shadows, keeping herself downwind and only moving when there was a slight breeze. These things, all taught to her when she was younger. She closed her eyes listening to the toms breathing pattern. He seemed unfocused, something that would kill you in a second. She made her way closer making sure to go unseen, unheard, and thats when she lunged forward attempting to pin the tom to the ground "Get away from my nest fox breath do you know how many cats I have to chase off and you are no exception!" Memory blinded by instinct, she attempted to dig her claws into the tom, he would NOT be getting away. This was the fourth cat this moon to wander to close.

Boltfang was just getting ready to start his journey home. His mind had become at ease, or at least at peace with how hopeless his situation really was. None of this was ever good. Boltfang had been about to stand up, but he never got the chance. A she-cat jumped onto him and she dug her claws in deep. Boltfang tumbled onto the ground with the She-cat's claws planted firmly into his side. The blood began to well in his wounds as the claws slowly dug deeper and deeper. His breathing grew panicked and faster. His heart raced and he could feel it thudding in his chest.
His mind raced for something to say, His mouth gasped for words, his eyes shut tight. Finally, He summoned up all his remaining strength into a thunderous shout, broken and a little off beat, the message still came through.
"Scor..... Scorp! Scorpianstorm!"
Boltfang caught his breath again and spoke quieter, turning his head to face his attacker.
"Boltfang..."

The black she-cat didn't let go at first. She looked at him, for long time before something in her brain sparkled. He knew her name her old name. She blinked and her claws retracted. Bolt...boltfang. She closed her eyes tightly before getting off the cat and standing a few feet away. When she opened them they were dilated, the fur on her back fluffed up, had she just attacked her old leader and over what her nest? She took in a painful breath looking at him. "I...I...you can never be too sure....cats here just want to kill each other and this is the only place I'm safe....' Scorpion pointed to the small nest that was under branches. It was incredibly uncomfortable but the leaves and bark hid her dark pelt well. She was able to sleep in intervals, waking up when she heart paw steps. She could watch those that were near by, and fall asleep again when they left. It was quite the spot to be in. "No place is safe not even the old camps. BirchClan is over run by wild dogs, Thorns by Badgers its just not safe. If you aren't attacked and killed by a cat you get attacked by something bigger or die of starvation." Her yellow eyes seem to unglaze over and become clear. Yes she knew who she was talking to, and he was the only cat from their old clan besides her parents that she could trust.
"My parents....are they?" She couldn't even bring herself to say the word she didn't know what to think. What would she do if they were gone...what COULD she do rather. She couldn't do anything. "I'm not Scorpionstorm anymore Boltfang. My promise is over, there's no clan to protect anymore its just myself out here thus I'm just Scorpion. Scorpion doing whatever she needs to do to make sure she lives to see tomorrow..." She didn't need to mention the dead cat on the top of the hill, just mentioning she was willing to do anything to survive was surely enough information she thought. She sighed slightly hanging her head. "I wouldn't be surprised if the were dead...I watched everyone die around me....might as well add them in too." She added with a sorrowful tone. The black she-cat was obviously broken and battered from the darkness...she felt hopeless.

Boltfang blinked and sat, quietly, listening to Scorpion... Boltfang couldn't help but blink back tears. She understood what this life was like. It was hard, uncaring. Fighting just to see tomorrow was the most painful experience anycat could be forced into. Boltfang watched Scorpion for some time, not letting anything be said. just watching her with a gentle, caring gaze. When she mentioned her parents. Boltfang's memory sparked. he remembered blood, and Jaycloud. He remember ladybug running out of the den, and then shouting at Jaycloud to leave, and then... He blacked out. But... they weren't dead. Boltfang refused to believe it, he couldn't. Somewhere in his heart he knew... but how could he tell Scorpion? he couldn't speak right ever since Eaglestrike died.
"Always... Scorpionstorm... to me.... Always... apprentice.... I'm proud.... of"
Boltfang stammered, and then finished.
"Always.... warrior... In heart...... Always.... proud."
Boltfang blinked. Searching for the right words...
"Jaycloud.... Alive.... Ladybug... Alive.... Don't know.... ...where they are..."

Scoprion paused as Boltfang started to speak, he was so primal, his words barely making sense, but Scorpion could pin them together. Despite them being in a world where no code existed, Scorpion was still the cat he trained to be a warrior, and despite all odds, was still a warrior to him. Her eyes burned brightly, but that didn't change the scenario. "To you but to everyoen else there's no code. Very few will abide by it when StarClan has seemed to left us all to die...none of the leaders got dreams about this...we could have prepared we could have stopped it!" She was scared to here about her parents but Boltfang mentioned them being alive. Did he really think that they were alive. She took in a quick breath and looked around, she had traveled far from her hidden nest once or twice, but hadn't run into them. She had run into other clan cats who either ran away from her, or chose to fight. Those who chose to fight typically ended badly. Her more recent flesh scars were proof of her many fights down here.
"They may have been alive after the initial attack but no place is safe. I should already be ducking in for the night as its almost sunset. Cats get hungry and there's not much prey around these parts. Despite this...cats fight and they kill. I saw a DuskClan...previous DuskClan cat kill someone from BreezeClan over a rabbit...these cats fought, but not like this, Boltfang we've all turned into killers my parents could have been killed over a lousy meal. The fact that they got out gives me hope...but I don't want that small sliver of chance to make me say they are for sure alive." Scorpion mewed, She looked at the sky turning orange and she felt her stomach turn into knots. She knew very well the hunters would be out soon. For some reason everyone thought it was safer at night, but that was not the reality of the situation. In fact it was much less safer at night. Not only were the other cats out to play, but other wild animals were as well. That wasn't something Scorpion wanted to deal with.
Scorpion flicked an ear and closed her eyes. Right on cue, a cat leaped from the bushes towards them. She growled that the blue gray cat that attacked and at one moment got the upper paw. "Boltfang RUN!!!" Scorpion was flung off of her attacked, and felt claws rake across her pelt. She looked to her flank briefly to see blood welling in a deep flesh wound. She would have to find a medicine cat who still had some kind of belief in StarClan or that wound would get infected. She whipped her head back around letting out a vicious snarl before parting her jaws and grabbed a hold of their leg pulling, and tearing at it with brute force. "Don't just sit there Run before I make you run!" The rogue ended up getting their foot free and the two cats went rolling around. Scorpion now had a rather large gash on her forehead which dripped into her vision occasionally. He wasn't fighting to kill her, but certainly would be fighting to cause damage. Scorpion didn't even see if Boltfang had decided to run or not. Run or stay this place was dangerous, and the proof was, that this rogue didn't leave, until Scorpions claws had blinded him. No she didn't kill all the time, but she caused damage.
