Time
"Yes it does, time brought us...spring..err New-leaf as you clan cats call it. We will all haver full bellies...BUT with new-leaf comes something I call flutterpated."
Those haunting words were the first in a series of memories that Shadow had hidden away. For the longest time, he had intended them to stay buried there, in the darkest parts of his inner thoughts, left alone to fester quietly among the other dark tendency's He had hidden away. Dawn would turn to Dusk and the thoughts would surface again in dreams. It would seem that he was never safe, never alone, never.... completely together. His sense of right and wrong was severely skewed. His demeanor was a bit more twitchy and off balance. His eyes never stayed focused on one thing for more than a few minutes. Time had gotten to this cat, just like it would get everything else. Their was no escape.
Shadow didn't accept losing lightly.
For every bad trait that littered his pelt from it's messy nature, to it's smell. Their were many more traits that shown through the bad. He was walking with an air of confidence, stronger than his former self. His pelt may be ragged, but his muscles were finely toned. Jumping from ledge to ledge just for a meal in the mountains was a great workout. He tried to be strong, he had to be strong, he had to be. He had to protect what mattered to him, He already failed once, He couldn't take it again.
With that mentality came another self defense mechanism.
Forced Loneliness.
Shadow stepped quickly into the under growth, hearing someone approaching. A white cat came running down the path he was on, Shadow held his breath and waited for the cat to stop so he could pounce, but the cat kept running.. Not even stopping to check if he had scented something. Shadow wasn't entirely sure, but it thought the cat was covered in snow.
As night began to take hold of the sky, Shadow had already found a small den to sleep in, he thought he recognized the area, but he couldn't place it. His den was located not to far from a waterfall, but far enough that it was nothing more than a quiet whisper.
"Raven, Where did you go?"
