Minutes turned to hours, turned to days. Without treatment, the wounds on her paws got worse. They were no longer sore, they were BRIGHT red and yellow. The she-cat lay on her side not unmoving as the fever started to set in. The she-cats skin was burning hot, if the clans had still be around, Webfoot would have been able to help her. However, no one had the advanced knowledge of herbs. She recalled someone soaking mossballs and pressing it to her forehead, but because of the fever, she couldn't focus and her vision was blurred. She blinked back tears as the black she-cat fought to stay alive. SHe had fought her way through the darkness and death was it ironic that something so easily treatable would be killing her? She laughed at herself in her head. She lasted this long and now it was all over. She opened one eye then another, her yellow eyes could only see darkness and what she saw was blurred. She could hear the sound of water, next to her a mossball. She lifted head but it was heavy. She gave the mossball a lick before her head hit the ground with a thud. She wasn't even strong enough to drink, to eat. She cried out once closing her eyes. It was done. Starclan help me.... The black she-cat heard paw steps if it was an intruder she wouldn't be able to defend herself. It was a hopeless act. "W...wh...who...whos...." She couldn't even get the words out that she wanted to say. Here comes goodbye...here comes the last time...here comes the pain here comes a new star in the night sky.

Pawsteps entered the small area where the black cat was laying. Setting down a leaf with some herbs he found in it. His eyes glanced over the cat for a moment and then returned to his former path. His eyes narrowed as he began to concentrate, he looked over the cat more closely as he got up next to her. He hissed quietly as he spotted her infected paws. He forced himself to keep calm as the cat spoke. When she couldn't finish her sentence, he growled. This was bad. Calmly he placed a paw on her forehead. Then he lost it.
"Of for the love of Starclan, are you kidding me? How did you get this bad? Did everyone just ignore it?" Boltfang turned around and started back from where he came, picking up his leaf and setting it in front of the she cat. He proceeded to chew the marigold he had brought with him and wiped it on her paws, muttering something to himself as he did so. When he finished he turned to the she cat.
"Long time no see kid."

Ravenmist closed her eyes tight as the paste was applied to her paws. She could feel the heat being drawn from the open wounds but the pain was enough to make her pass out. However the she-cat didn't complain she stayed focus trying to ignore the pain as much as she could. She opened one eye than another, the yellow color dull and dry. She focused her eyes on her father. When had HE gotten here. She blinked her eyes hoping for them to adjust to the darkness. It took awhile, but she was able to see the blurred version of the tom. He had found her? She looked around him searching for her mother, she was no where to be found. Birchtail? Panic started to settle in. Where was everyone? Had they left her here to suffer alone? "D-d-a-a-a..." She stopped but lifted her tail to touch his shoulder very lightly. Her father had been someone she didn't really talk much about. He had made some mistakes in his life, as did she. She had fallen in love with DawnClans leader and birthed his kits but complications nearly killed her, her father helped her. He was not there when Iristhorn claimed fathership to her kits, that was painful but he had not done it, and he had died for her. Did Boltfang KNOW about that? "Thank you...." She whispered.

Boltfang twitched his whiskers when his daughter thanked him. That was a first, probably an only.
"Thank you? If I wanted a thank you I'd hav-" Boltfang stopped himself and just took her thanks with some dignity.
"I just couldn't let my daughter die..."
Boltfang then turned and watched the entrance, quietly waiting for something to be said. Out of self frustration he decided to try and say something, and it came tumbling out. "I..... I'm glad... you're alive. I've.... missed you, Ravenmist."
