Fernheart looked at him. That feeling. He always had that feeling. But when had that feeling been wrong? Especially when it had to do with her or their family? What... what was going to happen?
She hadn't realized it, but her tail went to cover her stomach from his view. Her eyes were wide now, waiting on the bad news.
"He doesn't want them... but for their safety? Or mine? Or even his? Oh please, just tell me already! Stop holding it in and just tell me!" She thought to herself.
"Boltfang, why are you having this feeling? You.. just said you wanted them. That you're excited. Mistclaw isn't here anymore. The clans are reforming. What is there to fear?" she questioned, looking at him with her worried, green eyes.

Boltfang sighed. He was almost as confused about that feeling as she was. He always did have this feeling, but it was usually never wrong, and as her eyes grew, Boltfang's drifted down to her stomach. Instinctively he quickly looked around to see if anyone was watching them. She had a point, though. The clans were reforming, they were together. But then that name. Mistclaw. Boltfang didn't know why, but deep down that feeling turned of one from fear to a mixture of hate and blind anger. He couldn't resist the temptation to slowly hiss at the thought of this cat.
"Mistclaw.... Is not here. But, average danger is. Be it a fall or a wild fox..."
Boltfang sighed, he felt like he was running around in circles, both verbally and mentally. He didn't understand the feeling, he didn't understand why it was here, he just wanted it to go away, but it wouldn't.
"I promise you Fernheart, nothing in this world is going to stop me from being the best father I can be to our kits. my only fear... is maybe we don't get the prefect family we want.... I'm just worried it's going to fly out of our paws again..."
Boltfang licked Fernheart's forehead and then looked back to her eyes.
"I'm not saying I don't want them. I'm just... overly worried, Protective mate.... uh... That kinda stuff...."
Boltfang's voice sounded confident in what he was saying, He even sounded like that was actually what was bothering him, he was such a good liar even he believed himself. The reality? Even though Boltfang believed what he was saying, it wasn't true. he didn't know why he was worried, or why that feeling existed. Hopefully he never would and it would just go away, but that wasn't likely...
"I want a family, I just want to be sure that our kits... have everything that we couldn't give the others... I want this time to be right. I know i don't remember much... but... apparently I'm not a very good dad, or so I've been told..."

Fernheart looked at him. Her green eyes changing from sad to understanding as she listened to him explain himself. She pressed her face into his shoulder. "You are not going to be a bad father to these kits. Nor will we let anything bad happen to them if we are with them. There are some things we cannot control, Boltfang. But, as parents, we have to try our best to raise and teach their young heart and minds. And I believe we can do that. Its alright to be nervous now, but you were a wonderful father, even to kits who were not yours," she said, thinking back to Mistclaw's kits.
She licked his shoulder once before turning. "I'm going back into the camp. I told Rookshadow that I would help her and Patchpaw train today. I'll see you later, Boltfang. Try not to worry too much," she explained to him. She then headed off and entered the camp.
