Here I am waiting, taking every chance I'm given Feeling more and more alive with every note I'm singing "Brrr... Its getting really cold here..." Delilah shivered to herself a she padded through the field. The grass was tall and scratchy, the frost feeling like little claws whenever it brushed her. She talked to herself without even realizing it. She had to fill the empty void somehow. She braced through the lashing wind, closing her eyes against the fierce howling. Her fur might have been sort of long... But it was just getting colder and colder lately. Even her nests that she made didn't stay warm. It was getting so hard.. she had to find somewhere safer.
And the big forest, that looked lots safer. Even in the north she'd never seen trees so big. They were beautiful. She thought that her Mama might have liked them. Mama... Delilah frowned. She missed her family. She wished that her Mama was still around, and that she could help her. Everything had been so cold since she... Since she.. Delilah sniffed. And wait.. it smelled like.. cats! Delilah blinked. "There are cats here.." she meowed and looked around as she got closer to the trees. "So many of them..." suddenly, she was nervous. She hadn't met many stranger cats before. Only heard about the bad ones in the war. "I have to hide..!" she said out loud, not realizing that talking would draw attention to herself. Delilah looked around for somewhere to go. She'd gone too far to run back now. It was getting late. Sunset was here.. Delilah looked at the sky. Even though she couldn't see the sun through the clouds, she could tell. "Maybe they're good cats?" she murmured nervously. Shifting her paws as she padded deeper into the forest. Even though...They started the war... They could still be nice, right? Thoughts of her Mama and siblings ran through her head as she walked. Her Mama had been nice... Delilah sniffed. She really hoped so. Or maybe.. she just hoped that they wouldn't find her at all. Maybe she could find somewhere safe to hide before leaving? Oh, she tried to learn so much about the world, but she knew so little about the valley... Open your eyes and soak it up This life ain't long enough So love all that you can I'm rising up, I'm rising up [/div]

It’s okay to get lost every once in a while. Sometimes getting lost is how we find ourselves.
Hunting hunting hunting... Thats what Specklefoot was doing today! Out and about in the great wide forest, fresh air in his lungs, crunchy grass underpaw.. With the weather what it was after all, Cedarclan needed all the prey he could get. He'd been on a patrol earlier, but Bramblenose had told him that he should go hunt alone after he'd scared off that bird. Of course, Specklefoot had thought that was a great idea! He needed some more lone practice anyways. He hadn't gotten to hunt alone in a while. In the clans, most things were patrols. All of the cats went everywhere in groups. And he liked that! But alone time was good too. And he smiled as he trotted through the wood, humming an old tune of his mother's and keeping his nose to the air.
Birds, brambles, branches and bubbling brooks, the sounds of the forest were alive on that late Leaf-Fall evening. The sun was just beginning to set- it was early in the day for most Cedarclan cats, truthfully. But sometimes he liked to see the last bit of the sun disappearing behind the mountains. Even if there was just a chance of it. Through the trees now, the sky was all gray. But that last little bit of light fading.. It still gave him hope. Today was going to be a good day, he could feel it. Even if it was still early. He would catch lots of prey, and get even better at hunting than he'd become over the past few moons! There was a definite skip in his step now as he sniffed- and... wait a second... that wasn't a bird! Or a mouse! Specklefoot blinked. That waaaas... A cat!
Wow, there had been an awful lot of cats in Cedarclan's territory lately. Maybe this was another one looking to join the clan? Oh, he hoped so! Starlingfur just smiled in such a way whenever he brought new cats home.. Ah, it put butterflies in his heart just thinking about it! And how he loved having new clanmates. Even more cats to learn about, talk to, and share prey with! Oh he was already getting excited, and he hadn't even seen the cat. Who even knew if they wanted to join? Oh, it could be an intruder too! Oh dear, that wouldn't be nearly as good. Specklefoot's mind twitched back and forth in curiosity as he padded towards the scent. Whooooo could it beeeeee?
Oh, it was talking! Sounded like a she-cat. And a young one, too. Like Poolkit or that Marshclan she-paw. And was she... talking to someone? Oh, maybe she'd already met a Cedarclan warrior! But he didn't smell anyone else? Oh well. He'd find out! Specklefoot pushed through the undergrowth aaaaaaand...
There she was! A little tortie, looking all around the place. "Hey there miss!" he chirped, waving his tail. He looked around. Yeah... there was nobody else here. "Who're ya talking to?" He peered up and down, checking another time... Yep. Nobody.

Here I am waiting, taking every chance I'm given Feeling more and more alive with every note I'm singing Delilah sniffed the air for reassurance. Surely there wasn't any cat too close, right? The scents smelled kinda old anyways... But wait wait wait- what? Did she smell a tomcat? Oh no oh dear oh no, nervousness began to prickle at her pelt and embarrassment heated her cheeks. That tom had to have heard her talking to herself, and- there he was! There he was! Should she turn and run, or face him? Oh dear oh my. Fear bubbled in her heart and she braced herself as she turned to look around, aaand...
She wasn't getting attacked. A tom stood in front of her, much older and taller than she was. He was handsome with lots of spots and big green eyes. And he really wasn't attacking her. Delilah blinked. Maybe.. these cats weren't really mean after all. He said hello, and there was a calming twang to his voice. Delilah felt at ease. Maybe it was cause she hadn't seen another cat for so long- let alone talked to one- or one that was nice, but..
"Oh! Uhm.. no-one." she meowed, looking down at her paws nervously. Did he think she was crazy, oh dear.. uhm..
"'m Delilah! Who are you?" She tried to say a bit more confidently and pushed out her chest to make herself look bigger. Just in case he was really a threat. She still swallowed nervously and awaited his response..Open your eyes and soak it up This life ain't long enough So love all that you can I'm rising up, I'm rising up

Delilah? What was a Delilah? Specklefoot tipped his head. He'd never heard of that before. It was a weird name. His name used to be Dots, which was a thing that he knew. And Ravenface's name had been Raven. And Swanstrike's name had been Crescent- or so he'd heard. That'd been waaay before he'd joined the clans. But a Delilah? "Whats that yer named after? I ain't never heard of a Delilah." Was it a flower? He thought he'd heard of that sort of flower before from Ravenface. But everything with plants was so confusing, that even when he was curious it usually just went over his head.
"I'm Specklefoot! Nice t'meetcha." he purred, flicking his tail. She seemed nice! Not mean, like some of the cats who they'd met in the territory. But.. how had she gotten so far into the territory without anyone noticing in the first place? I mean, they were just inside the treeline already! Specklefoot tipped his head. "Whatcha doin? This is Cedarclan territory, ya know. Outsiders ain't really allowed." he meowed, whiskers twitching curiously. Huh. He'd gone out to hunt and caught a cat instead! If she was lost... he couldn't be much help there. Specklefoot was still finding his way around the territory himself, let alone anything out of it. But if she wanted to join Cedarclan, then...! Well, he sure could help there! Specklefoot just grinned.

Here I am waiting, taking every chance I'm given Feeling more and more alive with every note I'm singing "What do you mean 'whats a Delilah?'" Delilah looked at him in mild confusion. "Whats a speckle foot? I've never heard of that before.." he was grinning all weird like.. Maybe he was the crazy one, she thought shifting her paws nervously. But it didn't seem like a dangerous kind of crazy. He was so relaxed, like he'd known her forever! It made Delilah let her guard down a bit. Yeah.. maybe these cats weren't so mean. That made her happy. A little relaxed, too. She let out a happy tail flick to let him know that she didn't mean any harm either.
"I'm sorry if I'm intruding, I knew I had smelled more cats but I had figured I was far enough away..." she looked at him, beautiful grey green eyes uncertain. She tilted her head a bit. How many cats lived here? "So you're from here... the uhm... valley woods?" she looked at him questioningly. "I've never seen trees this big. I guess you could say I'm a loner... I just sorta walk about and do my own thing you could say.." she meowed thoughtfully before moving back to her original position and sitting down with a soft smile. "Well, I'm a Specklefoot!" he chirped, lifting up one paw. "See? Its 'cause 'm feet have spots." he wiggled his toes for emphasis. The rest of him had spots too, but well.. Specklebody might sound just a little weird! "I don't know what a Delilah is though. What does it mean about you?" the tom tilted his head again. His mama's name was Frosty, cause she had white fur. And his Papa's name was Dusty, because his fur was dark and his spots looked like dust specks. But no siree did he know what a Delilah was. But he wanted to learn! Strangers always brought such neat information. Boy, now that he'd joined Cedarclan, he was just meeting new and different cats all the time.
So polite! Lotsa cats who walked over their borders didn't really care. And that was all well and good, but it was nice to see someone who did. "Thats okay! Lotsa warriors'd be mad about it, but you apologized. So long as you didn't take nothin, it should be okay." he meowed, padding around her now. Hidden prey? Secret herbs? He found neither. And he didn't find anything else for that matter. At first sight at least. So she was clean! Moving back to her front, Specklefoot sat down with a grin.
"Mhmm! Ahm a warrior 'a Cedarclan!" he puffed out his chest proudly. "You gotta be careful around here. There are two clans, and neither of em take too kindly to strangers poppin in like this. Unless.." his eyes sparkled a little bit. "You're lookin ta join!" She seemed like a good cat! Real polite, sorta young to be on her own. A clan would be great for anyone! Especially nice cats who didn't attack someone else right on site!
