Birchtail lightly trotted around the camp, kits laughing happily and excitedly as they hung onto his back and sides. A huge, goofy grin was plain on his face as he slowly picked up the pace, causing the kits to squeal and scream with excitement as their claws dug into his fur. Soon he was slowly running around the camp, dodging the other warriors and apprentices as they did their duties or lazed about. He would get annoyed hisses or annoyed comments as he nearly ran into some cats, but him and the kits would just laugh it off.
"Faster, dad! Faster!"
"You won't be able to hang on, Ternkit! This is a fast enough pace!"
"Come on, Uncle Birchtail! We're as strong as warriors!"
"Frostkit, your mother would kill me if she ever found out you were hurt on my watch!"
Both of the she-kits whined and Birchtail slowed back down in front of the nursery. He easily plucked both of the kits off of him and sat them on the ground next to each other. His green eyes gazed down at them and purred. They didn't look like they would be related. They looked different!
Frostkit was a slim she-kit with black and white fur and blue eyes, just like her father.
Ternkit was a pudgy silver tabby she-kit with green eyes, a mix between himself and Starlingfur.
And yet, the two were cousins, sharing the same blood that Birchtail and Fernheart shared.
Speaking of Fernheart, his sister and the other queens were resting in nursery. He had decided that he would watch all of the kits that didn't want to nap. thus he was stuck with Poolkit, Ternkit, and Frostkit at the current moment. Of course, if he knew anything about kits, soon they would be joined by some of the others and Birchtail would be Lord of Kits. That title made him chuckle.
"What do you three want to play?"

Super sneaky. The ultimate master of stealth. That was Hawkkit, creeping up behind the side of the warrior's den. He eyed his brother from across camp- two little golden eyes gleaming from the tiny corner juuuust under the nursery log. Shrikekit had the ultimate hiding place. But Hawkkit, Hawkkit had the ultimate pouncing place. (He really liked the word Ultimate. Mistlekit had taught it to him the other day, and he used it all the time now). But ANYWAYS! He was here. He was wagging his tail. And his target was just in sight. He looked to Shrikekit one more time, eyes serious. They had to get this right the first time! His brother nodded. Or well, he thought he did. It was kind of hard to see with him so well hidden. And then, Hawkkit raised his tail. The signal!
"Lets play..."
"GET DAD!"
And with that, he leapt! And so did Shrikekit! They landed right on Birchtail, and Hawkkit let out a trill of joy as he clambered up the sitting tom's back and pulled at his ear. Meanwhile, Shrikekit batted his paws and stomach. The ultimate team attack! And the ultimate stealth attack! They never would have been seen coming! But They needed help. Papa was big and strong. Hawkkit wanted to be as big and strong as him someday. But they couldn't take him down all on their own!
"Frostkit! Ternkit! Poolkit! You gotta help us prove that we're ready to be apprentices!" he squealed, hanging on for dear life.

"Never give up!" "Never surrender!" "RRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!!!!"The twin brown bodies plunged into the fray with Hawkkit and Shrikekit, not to be outdone. One battered the brown Warrior's legs as the other jumped up on his back, scrabbling to keep from falling back to the dirt, laughing and play growling all the while. One of the twins (it was impossible to tell if it was Quail or Quiver) caught sight of Poolkit nearby and grinned, urging her to go for the tom's unprotected belly for a Tickle Attack. The other beamed at Hawkkit beside him and started jumping up and down on the poor Warrior's back with excitement. "All Hail the New Warriors of Cedar Clan!" he howled triumphantly. "Get him, Hawkwing! Faster, Shrikefeather! We can take him down!"The little tuxedo shecat hung back, unsure. She giggled when Birchtail writhed and moaned and the other kits cried out triumphantly or with battle cries. She tentatively started to walk- But, er, no. She would probably mess it up somehow. Dawnkit sneezed, something in the air tickling her nose. No, she did not want to ruin the play. She would stay right over here, safe by the nest. Her bright blue eyes watched her sister closely as she laughed and squealed in their play. She wanted to go. She really did. Her irises were black with excitement and her short kittenish tail flicked quickly behind her, but she held back. She had not expressly been invited to play. She did not want to be rude. She wanted to be polite -to be good. She was always very good. Always. Even the Swanstrike had said so. She said that Dawnkit was the best behaved kit she had ever met. Dawnkit liked that. People liked it when she behaved. She must always behave. If she did, her father would spend more time with them, she was sure of it. If she did, the other kits would like her more too. She knew they would. The twins gave a great big roar as they attacked and the tuxedo kit laughed behind her dainty paw. She liked the twins. They were always so nice and polite. Although, Quiverkit hardly paid her much attention, what with all the time he spent with his brother, and as for Quailkit... he acted like Dawnkit did not even exist half the time. The other half he was alright though. Swanstrike told her it was a boy thing. Dawnkit was drawn back from her thoughts to the fight as even more rallying cries were lifted to the sky to tackle the mighty Birchtail.

Birchtail turned his head sharply as the squeaks from his sons emerged from either side of him. He felt one land on him, climbing up to his back and his other son began pawing at his legs and belly. He growled playfully with the kits and was suddenly attacked by two more! The twins! Oh, they decided to join in too!
"You'll never be able to take me down! I'm a big, scary badger! ROOOOOAAAARRRRR!" he said loudly as he was basically lugging the kits around.
------
Poolkit giggled and helped one of the twins to attack the tom's belly. She batted at it with her paws, watching as it jiggled with fat. It only made her giggle even more as she watched it sway back and forth. Her blue eyes turned to stared at the blue eyes of the twin that called her over.
"Get his legs! We'll take the badger down!" she said, still batting at the belly.
------
Birchtail started laughing. "S-stop it! Kits, stop! That's tickling me!" he said, snorting with laughter. It was hard to be a big scary badger when he was being tickled.
------
Ternkit hugged her father's front right leg, trying to hold him in place. She nibbled on it with her sharp kit teeth, although not biting hard enough to hurt.
"Hurry up, Terntail! Trip him!"
Ternkit looked at Frostkit and stuck her tongue out.
"Come over and help me, Frostwhisker!" she said back, giggling.
------
Birchtail swayed back and forth on his paws(on purpose of course) as the kits "attacked" him. "Oh no! The mighty warriors of Cedarclan have taken down the big, bad, scaaaaaaary badger! But look out, he's going to take some of you with him!" he said.
He plopped himself down on the kits that were under him. He laid on them just enough so that he only put a bit of weight down, but they were able to still wiggle around and breathe.
"Oh no, I suppose Hawkstar has to explain to their mothers what happened! True warriors through and through!"

"Warriors! Attack!" Hawkkit yowled, tugging on their father's ears harder. No, Hawkwing! He let out a trill of joy as Quailkit and Quiverkit joined the fray. Although he could still never tell which was which. One of them joined him on his father's back, scrabbling for a hold and battering at his shoulders. Yes! They would win! "Quailheart, Quiverfur, lets get em!"
A badger! Why, that was even worse! "We have to protect the clan!" Shrikefeather squeaked, trying to push Birchtail- no, the Badger! Onto his back. It was kind of hard what with how big and heavy he was, but the little kit tried his hardest. And he was soon joined not only by one of the twins, but also Ternkit and Poolkit. This would definitely win them the fight! He could feel the badger rumbling above- laughing? And wobbling under the weight of so many heavy kits. They were definitely big and strong enough to be warriors now! But wait. One sway, two sway, aaand...
Poof!
Shrikefeather let out a sqeal as the badger flopped down on him. So heavy! The tom wiggled around, struggling to get his head out. He could hear talking above. They'd won- but at what cost? Shrikefeather stuck just his head out from underneath the great patched body, before lolling his tongue out with a sharp sigh. He had sacrificed his life for his clan... A brave soul taken too soon...
"Oh, my brother. Oh, my sister! And Poolripple and Frostwhisker and Quiverfur too!" Hawkstar falsly wept from atop the badger. He was still putting weight on all of them really! Gah! But he didn't seem to notice. "Starclan took them too soon!" Yeah, he was definitely taking lessons from Mistlekit. He sighed dramatically, leaping from his perch with a shake of his head. "Quailheart! What'll we do without our siblings!?" he exclaimed. "Well... I guess we look similar enough that we could be eachother's new siblings..."
"HEY!" the supposedly-dead Shrikefeather protested from beneath Birchtail's body. Hawkkit grinned.
"But still! And deputy Dawnflower! Come see whats happened to our siblings! Your sister is out here too!" he cried out upon seeing the little she-cat, still cooped up in her den. His eyes were mock-sorrowful, but they held play, too. And a smile was just threatening so hard to appear on his muzzle. He fought it though! And why was Dawnkit in there all alone? She had ought to come play with them!

The kit atop the 'Badger' screamed in delight as their victory was at hand! The kit playfully gnawing at Birchtail's back leg stopped to laugh and smirk up at his brother. Ha HA! They were victorious! "We win! We win!" "All Hail the Mighty Ceda- Ack!"The words were cut short and smothered when the brown tom was rolled underneath the massive warrior's frame. Nothing but mumbles could be heard now. The tom's twin stiffened. "Oh no, I suppose Hawkstar has to explain to their mothers what happened! True warriors through and through!""Oh, my brother. Oh, my sister! And Poolripple and Frostwhisker and Quiverfur too!"The tom's heart stuttered and his eyes dilated, but not with play this time. He had forgotten how to breathe. He couldn't breathe. "Well... I guess we look similar enough that we could be eachother's new sib-""QUAILKIT!" The cry was sharp and alarmed and not at all dramatic. The tom, who had now clearly identified himself as being Quiverkit, raced around Birchtail, his fur bristling. He sank his teeth quite fiercely into the Warrior's scruff, trying frantically to drag him off his sibling. Quailkit was not dead! It was just play! But what if Birchtail was hurting him?! Quailkit could not be hurt! It was his brother! Quiverkit had to save him! "GET OFF! GET OFF! GET OFF! GET OFF! QUAILKIT!" the young tom was well and truly frantic now, pushing and shoving and actually biting at the much larger tom with everything he had in him. "QUAILKI-"A soft furry brown head with bright blue eyes and an even bright smile popped into view to jeer at his brother. "Here I am! Miss me?" he mewed cheerily. Quiverkit rushed forward to nuzzle his brother and make sure he was alright, finally feeling the horrible tightness in his chest release. Quailkit patted his head indulgently. "I'm fine I'm fine," the twin laughed. He looked over at the other kits, feeling a bit embarrassed by his brother's over protectiveness. "Ahem. Right then. Good job, Hawkstar! You led us well!"Quiverkit shot Hawkkit a dirty look and curled around his brother, inciting another laugh from the disheveled twin. "And I think Quiverkit likes me as a brother just fine. Sorry. Can't replace me." Quailkit stuck out his tongue playfully, but tried to use his paw to shove Quiverkit down. His brother was making a scene. The tuxedo kitten felt a smile burst out onto her face. Her? Dawnflower? Deputy? Hawkkit wanted her to play Deputy? The shekit was so excited! She quickly bounced to her paws and- "QUAILKIT!"The black and white shekit blinked in surprise and winced as Quiverkit took the play too seriously. Although, inside, the felt a bit jealous of Quailkit to be honest. He was so lucky to have such a great cat as his brother! Quiverkit was always so caring and nice. Even freaking out, it was over his sibling and it was quite sweet. Then Quailkit was revealed to be unharmed and Dawnkit giggled as Quiverkit curled around his brother, trying to look fierce but just looking like a brown puff ball. There was a bit of awkwardness in the air now after Quiverkit's little stunt. She trotted forward to break it up. "Well, at least one warrior was saved, Hawkstar," she mewed happily. "Quiverfur the Brave here did it," she giggled. " He saved Quailheart the flat. But, as Deputy, I have just found out there is another Badger! A whole... whole..." Dawnkit tried to remember the word. "A whole set." That was the word for a Badger den, right? "We should use this fallen badger to take us to its people!" The little kit's blue eyes practically gleamed. "But I don't know if we can ride it. It seems very fierce. Only the best warriors would be able to stay on top!"Ah ha. So that was what the kit was going for. Rowdy piggy back rides. This was going to be goooooooooood...

Birchtail looked down at Quiverkit and moved so that he was no longer on top of the kits below him. He moved over to see that Quailkit was, like he thought, just fine. No need to panic, but the other twin seemed to be very protective of him. He would have to remember that, of course.
His green eyes then moved so that he was staring at Dawnkit. He purred and batted her tiny ears with his paws. "Ride the badger? You all can try, but the badger isn't going to let you all ride easily!"
He smiled a bit and he felt tiny claws digging into his fur as some kits were already climbing up onto his back.
"I am the fiercest of the warriors! I can hang on easily!"
"Stop lying, Frostwhisker! We all know you're going to be the first to fall off,"
Birchtail felt Frostkit gasp at the accusation and he let out a rumbling chuckle. "Play nice now. Hurry up kits or the badger is going to escape with out you!"
"I'm too big! I can't fit with all of this kits on you!" Poolkit pouted, looking up at Birchtail.
