He sat outside of his new den, his one good eye staring at the blood red moon, he could see the rising and falling flanks of sleeping bodies of the cats around. For as long as he could remember, everything inside of him just wanted to fit in. Even in ThornClan he was the outcast. He had strived to be a warrior and that was all taken away from him in a blink of an eye. His sister left him to die, he probably should have died it would have been a lot less painful than the suffering he had been going through. Just like everyone said he was a monster, he had half a face, he had a personality that grew stronger, he didn't ask for it, but he was a monster, and it just kept getting stronger. He twitched his whiskers slightly as he recalled the shooting stars going across the sky, those cats had died, those cats all had a chance but they didn't make it, what about all the cats that had died under his paws, they....they had a fighting chance, but he took away their glimmer of hope and surrounded them with darkness. All those cats....he growled digging his claws into the soft earth. He wasn't innocent, perhaps that's why he let things consume him. It was so much easier to give in than to fight it.
His first victim had been his sister Morningfrost. A small calico beauty, a strong warrior like their father, a mother, a mate, someone who had a fighting chance for survival, but instead of trying to help his own BLOOD he suggested feeding her death berries. Had she survived the fox attack she would have been severely scarred and damaged but there was a chance everyone had a chance but he had taken the easy and less painful way out. He killed his own sister, forcing the berries down her throat, forcing her to swallow taking her life....that hadn't been the first time he had used the dreaded berry to take the easy way out. Killing someone was just so much easier than watching them suffer through pain, death is painless why put yourself through pain when you can take it all away? It just made so much more sense to him.
His mind drifted to the great journey where he had almost lost himself completely. Many of the other clan cats had called him out, were afraid of him for what he looked like. As Eveningblazes mind wandered to those times, he found himself staring at his reflection in the stream. What he saw was darkness. He saw death, her saw a killer, he didn't see a kind medicine cat When they were on the journey, the black tom often stared at his reflection. It is how he came to acceptance with the fact that he only had half of a face, he came to terms with the fact that he would never truely be normal like everyone else. However there was a glimmer of hope for him. A small light that brought him out of the darkness and into the light. He remembered how her touch felt against his broken face, how gentle it had been, and she had been the only one to bring him out of everything. To make him work hard, to make him prove his worth, she did that to him.
Eveningblaze layed down on the green clovers, his head on his paws as he closed his one eye tight. A memory so dark....that he had pushed it so far back. The one cat who saw past the scars he killed her....perhaps she had a chance too and he took that away. He took the easier route instead of watching her suffer and heal, the quickest way to end her pain and his was just to kill her. He dug his claws into the ground, what happens if he hadn't done that...hshe could be with him right now!! She could be telling him he was making all the right choices guiding him helping him....loving him instead she was gone, because he had been selfish and he had killed her. The moment she took her last breath, the moment that she no longer existed in the plane he walked, was the moment her turned to the one thing that was less painful....the dark forest.
The black tom continued to look at his reflection, his one eye starting to water, he had found Sunpaw, and she brought him out of the darkness once more, but despite all that, she wasn't cherry. He whimpered slightly as he lifted a paw and slammed it into the water creating a loud splashing noise. He closed his eyes tightly. "Cherry....Sun....somebody.....I can't do this anymore....I don't want to be alone...." He whimpered ever so softly.
