APPEARANCE
Ripped is not a cat you want to meet on a dark, stormy night. Actually, he is not a cat you want to meet at all. He is the cat you call 'Sir' and make sure to mind your manners around. He is big, very big. He has strongly taken after his grandfather and will lord over most cats. His fur is the thick, Maine Coon coat that is stifling in Greenleaf, but invaluable in Leafbare. When other cats are shivering in their nests, Ripped will be lounging about outside enjoying the fresh air. While he looks like a big, powerful, ball of fur, do not think for one second that is all fluff. He is a solid as a mountain and sure hits like one. He has huge, terrifying paws that could snap a cat's neck with hardly any effort. He is big. He is powerful. He is not a cat you want to mess with. He has deep green eyes that are genuinely nice to look at- when they are not glaring at you. He has a deep gash down the side of his face and neck from a kithood injury. 'What was the injury from?' you may want to ask. I wouldn't. He tends to get a bit hasty with his fangs when that topic comes up. You (and your pelt if you don't want to get a matching one) are better off leaving some mysteries buried.  personality
Ripped is not much of a talker. What can be gleaned from his outward appearance is likely the most you will get. He does not talk much. To anyone. Even his siblings. This is not to say he has a bad relationship with his kin. Far from it, Ripped is actually the most alive and friendly (or, er, as friendly as this tom gets) when Cherry or Patchblaze are nearby. He and his siblings seem to converse more through wild expressions and gestures. It is quite entertaining to watch, just don't get caught. The three of them don't take kindly to being eavesdropped on, and all of those cats are pretty big. Yeah. You'd be better off to just move along and leave them to their... whatever it is. Sibling bonding, I suppose. The point is, Ripped loves his siblings. Unquestionably. He would do anything for them, and I mean anything. He looks up to Patchblaze a lot as an apprentice, and even when he grows into a tom that is larger and stronger than his sister, he still keeps up a bit of his old hero worship. This is not to say he envies her because of her hearing. No, despite his sister being the only one of the triplets to be able to hear, that has never been a dividing factor for Ripped. (Although he loves nothing more than to team up with Cherry and drive their sister crazy pretending they don't understand her when she tells them to work even though they both obviously do.) He looks up to Patchblaze because when they had nothing and no one, she stepped up. He did not realize it until tensions came to a head late in his kithood, but looking back and even forward he is constantly amazed at all his sister did and still does for them. It would have been so easy for her to cast them aside and focus on her own needs, but she never once did. Patchblaze is Ripped's hero, and he hopes that he can make his sister proud -even though he knows she is already proud of them. And always has been.
HISTORY Born to Honeyheart, after his father Gullwing's disappearance, Ripped was named 'Gullkit' after the tom and was sheltered by his mother despite his deafness and stutter. Honeyheart taught the young kit to speak as little as possible so that cats would not hear him and judge him poorly before he was old enough to protect himself. His mother fell ill near his 6th moon. Many cats believe the stress of having two sons that still acted like kits, while still trying to maintain the duties of a leader, led to her health's rapid decline. Patchblaze, barely old enough to be an apprentice at the time, stepped up to take care of Gullkit and his brother Cherrykit, as well as their mother, and attempted to keep the clan running with Honeyheart's deputy, Duskblaze. This did not hold as Honeyheart's strength fell away and Duskblaze rose up to take the clan by force. Gullkit did not understand the turmoil. The dangerous position he and his siblings lived in did not process for him. It did not take long for that to change though, and for 'Gullkit' to realize what a dark place the world could be. All it took was one little Rip.
